How to Maintain Your Locks:
- Lubricate the Lock Mechanism – Use a graphite-based lubricant or silicone spray (avoid oil-based lubricants like WD-40, which can attract dust and grime). Apply it inside the keyhole and on moving parts at least twice a year.
- Check for Loose Screws and Alignments – If your lock or door handle feels wobbly, tighten any screws to keep it secure. Misaligned locks can cause difficulty in locking or unlocking.
- Keep Keys in Good Condition – Bent or worn-out keys can damage the lock over time. If your key is difficult to turn, it may be time to cut a new one.
- Watch for Rust or Corrosion – Moisture and weather conditions can cause rust. If you notice any signs, clean the lock with a rust remover and consider replacing it if necessary.
By taking care of your locks, you prevent unexpected malfunctions and potential lockouts. If a lock starts to stick or feel unreliable, consult a locksmith before it completely fails.

When you move into a new home, one of the first things you should do is change the locks. You never know who might still have a copy of the old keys—previous owners, tenants, real estate agents, or contractors. Installing brand-new locks ensures that you are the only one with access to your property, giving you peace of mind and better security.
